Ordination and Induction of Rev Trevor Kane
Friday 30th June 2017
The service was conducted by the moderator of Glasgow and Argyll Presbytery, Rev Ivor MacDonald, who had also been interim moderator for the congregation. Mr MacDonald preached from 1 Corinthians 1:18 to 2:5: The Message of the Cross. The cross tests all that we do as God’s people. It determines the content and the style of our message, it is revealed in the calling by God of people who are not powerful or influential to display his glory and it provides the pattern for ministry of every authentic Christian preacher. It will be through commitment to the message of Jesus and his cross, offering hope to people who are broken, by a humble community of servants that the kingdom of God will advance in Dumfries.
